Hamachi Patch for AOE 3 (all versions) and AOM
November 12, 2007 by: Blink 7It was some time ago I wrote the original tutorial on how to make Age of Empires 3 work with a freeware Virtual Private Networking (VPN) program called Hamachi. There have been many questions about where to find the AOE3VPN.exe patch referenced in the tutorial, with some readers were to find it from the supplied Google search bar.
The good news is that a much-improved patch is available from Crea-Doo:

Version 1.63 of the Age of Empires loader makes the startup even easier by providing a GUI to select between using a Hamachi IP address and the public address. Override ports, sound settings, bypassing the intro video and direct IP connectivity can also be toggled. Best of all, support is not limited to basic Age of Empires III. The following “Age of …” games are supported:
Age of Mythology
Age of Mythology – The Titans
Age of Empires III
Age of Empires III – The War Chiefs
Age of Empires III – The Asian Dynasties
Age of Empires III – Napoleonic Era (mod)
A quick test with the new Asian Dynasties expansion booted to the menu screen without the intro video and connected to Hamachi effortlessly. Age of Mythology is no longer on this system but I’d be interested to hear if anyone has luck connecting Hamachi to the notoriously picky game.

Hey. I’m having trouble with Age of Mythology. We’ve all updated, and patched the game. I’ve used Hamachi for awhile, and have never had trouble like this. I’ve even played AOE3 through Hamachi, and didnt have trouble.
I host the game, the person joins the game, though it shows the person a connecting message again (while in the hosted game) giving them 119 seconds. They can never fully connect. I can talk with the people and ping them on hamachi, so that’s not the problem. I’ve also played other games, like Rise of nations with them, so i’m sure its the game. If you can give any suggestions I’d be thankful.
i used this program wiht my friend.we also have diferrent codes for instalation and asian dynasties newest patch but it keeps sayin: out of sync after 10 sec

Why I cand’t play Age Of Mythology on the computers that are not directly connected to Internet ?
All are connected to hamachi, but the game doesn’t work, except the computers with public ip.

Im running aoe3 on win2k…game works fine, only Aoe3loader cant discover my installation(and Im not buying XP, or vista so yaa boo to that:P)
I have 1 question: how does aoe3loader.exe detect aoe3 versions? does it look for a HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Windows->Microsoft->etc value or does it look for some folder in my prog files?

I would like to play the game Age of Empires 3, we usually work fine with Warcraft 3 and hamachi.
I has tried al lot of methods:
Only for the host:
1) Start Hamachi
2) Disable all network connections except Hamachi
3) Start the game
4) Select to host a game. Verify that Hamachi address appears
5) Minimize game to return to windows environment. Re-enable other network connections
6) Return to game and continue play
Upgrade to patch 1.12
Return to Hamachi 1.1.0.1
Disable all firewalls and antivirus, and all other software except Hamachi and AoE3
We also has tried the Hamachi Patch for AoE3, but nothing.
At last we have an error like “Impossible connect/access to the game”, this is my translation in english.
tried everything you said, we still can’t get to see each other’s games over hamachi ….

Ok, here is what is happening with most people… the game detect the Internet IP insted of Hamachi IP… if this is happening with you, I suggest you do the following:
Windows XP
1- Click Start and go to Control Panel
2- Go to Network Connections
3- In the menu at the top, click Advanced and then Advanced Settings.
4- You’ll see your Wireless or Local Area Connection in the list and Hamachi under “Connections.”
5- Click Hamachi and click the Green Up Arrow to move it to the top.
6- Click OK to close the dialog.
Windows Vista
1- Click Start and go to Control Panel
2- Click Network and Sharing Center
3- On the left side, click Manage Network Connections
4- Press the ‘Alt’ key and click Advanced then Advanced Settings at the top.
4- You’ll see your Wireless or Local Area Connection in the list and Hamachi under “Connections.”
5- Click Hamachi and click the Green Up Arrow to move it to the top.
6- Click OK to close the dialog.
What you did changed the priority that windows will look for an IP address and then you set Hamachi as the first option available!

Hello everyone, i see a lot of problems but no resolving answers.
i also have the same problem with a friend; when trying 2 play aomT, it says after connecting to the friends ip adres; attempting connection 120 sec. we tried a lot of things (override adres, different older hamachi etc.etc) but nothing work =(
with aoe3 asian/age we get the other problem; version mismatch, however we have both exactly the same version (or maybe to eexact with serial, if thats an possibelity))
If someone please have some ideas of the things we can try please contact/email me, because we really wanna play! but are just stucked in these problems…

I’m trying to play AoM:T with a friend of mine, we got hamachi and we have the same version and everything, we connected to te hamachi created a lan and we can chat so the connection works,
I putted the OverrideAddress=x.x.x.x with our address and it didn’t work. Then we tried closing all the other connection but the only address we have is 0.0.0.0
We now tried with the launcher, when we host a game we see our IP and the Hamachi IP but when we try to directly connecti it still doesn’t work :(:(:(:(
Now we tried moving the connection priority as Tiago said, the result is always the same

Hey blink the loader works wicked but im having the same problem as one other person here the game goes outa sink after 10 seconds of play, other then that connecting between two people over hamachi works great. im not sure what the problem is or where to even start i have a pretty good internet connection, any ideas from any one would be wicked, email me direct at Sameshitdifferentday_SSDD@msn.com
I used this with AoM The Titans, and a get hamachi IP as alternative IP, and my friend can`t connect to my game. That is because hamachi IP is alternative one. How can i make the game start in only one IP (hamachi IP)??? Please help me.

I play AOE3 without upgrades. I have some problems. I follow these steps but it dont work. When I diable the local area connetion i have Hamachi IP, but when I Enable it, I get an error.
I tried some other instruction but it didn’t work.
